About this project

A personal, five-minute, scroll-driven interactive film for the web. One continuous page. The visitor starts on a lived-in Earth at night, scrolls away from it until it is one pixel in the dark, sits in the silence, looks back at that pixel caught in a beam of scattered sunlight, and leaves without being told what to think.

Made by Mike, for Mike: a creative outlet, a thing to learn three.js on, and something to show friends and family. Not a product. Nothing is sold.

About this image

Everything on screen is our own render, start to finish. The look-back frame is an homage to the photograph Voyager 1 took on 14 February 1990, from about six billion kilometres away, not the photograph itself. NASA's page for the photograph.
